| Since its foundation by the Sisters of Charity of our Lady, Mother of Mercy, Regina Medical Center has considered Pastoral Care as an essential element of the service which it provides to patients, residents, their families and staff. |
 |
"The Pastoral Care team is trained in the arts of listening, dialogue and counseling. Staff members provide opportunities for prayer, sacred scripture and the sacraments for those who find this helpful," says Father John Marley, previous Director of Pastoral Care at Regina. "The team also helps people to explore their religious beliefs and basic values in order to facilitate the healing of body, mind and spirit."
A resident chaplain is available to patients and residents on a 24-hour basis. Regina has an ecumenical approach to pastoral care and wishes to accommodate the religious needs of patients and residents who wish to invite visits from pastors or clergy of any particular church or religion. Local clergy are welcome to visit their congregation members at Regina. |
